C6998 Alpha, Beta & Gamma Sensitive Miniature Geiger Counter Kit

Miniature Geiger Counter Kit measures alpha, beta, and gamma rays using a mica window GM tube type 6108. The miniature mica window tube is only 1.6" long x 0.35" diameter. The tube was made for the US Navy during the Cold War and is precision made. This kit has its sensitive detection window at the end of the tube at about 0.3" diameter so you that can pinpoint specific sources of radioactivity. This kit uses a 555 IC, a small metal speaker, and a blue-green LED to provide indication of radiation with both clicks and flashes of bright light each time radioactive rays strike the mica window. Comes with all parts, PC board, and instructions. Operates from one 9V battery (not included). No case available. This kit requires soldering. Skill level 2.
